Wrong links on Launchpad web pages?

Asked by Manfred Hampl

On the web page to an Ubuntu package https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/at-spi2-atk/2.18.1-2ubuntu1 I see on the right hand side below "Publishing" and "Builds" only Ubuntu xenial.

Some of the links to the binary packages, however, lead to subpages for yakkety; in fact I see a strange mix of different releases:

/ubuntu/yakkety/+package/libatk-adaptor
/ubuntu/yakkety/+package/libatk-adaptor-data
/ubuntu/xenial/+package/libatk-adaptor-dbgsym
/ubuntu/xenial/+package/libatk-adaptor-udeb
/ubuntu/xenial/+package/libatk-adaptor-udeb-dbgsym
/ubuntu/xenial/+package/libatk-bridge-2.0-0-udeb
/ubuntu/yakkety/+package/libatk-bridge-2.0-0-udeb-dbgsym
/ubuntu/yakkety/+package/libatk-bridge2.0-0
/ubuntu/yakkety/+package/libatk-bridge2.0-0-dbgsym
/ubuntu/yakkety/+package/libatk-bridge2.0-dev

I would have expected to see only links to xenial from a page that states that there are only xenial builds for this program version. Is this a bug?

It is a bit weird. Looking at DistributionSourcePackageRelease.sample_binary_packages, I think it's not well-defined what happens in the case where a source package release was copied to another series. We should probably make some attempt to prefer the series in which the package was originally built, although bear in mind that there isn't necessarily a single such series across all architectures (see e.g. https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/binfmt-support/2.1.5-1).

I suggest you convert this question into a bug. I'll let you do that so that you're listed as the reporter.
