There is a bug (https://bugs.launchpad.net/launchpad/+bug/1544064) which seems to be a serious one but there was no response from maintainers.

I've answered your bug report. FWIW asking things in multiple places generally just increases our load and makes it harder for us to get around to everyone.

Thanks and sorry for the multiple reporting, I just assumed my finding represents a serious flaw.
