A request for more space in c2d4u

Asked by Michael Rutter

I would like to request more space for my PPA of R packages for Ubuntu.

Yes, I have a lot of packages, yet the old ones do not seem to get deleted. Is there a way to purge out old versions so that the PPA has more space?

I've increased the quota to 10GiB. What suggests that the old ones are not being deleted? It can take up to 36 hours for the space to be freed up after you delete them.

Poor question on my part, let me try again. And as I write this out, I think I have answered my own question.

When all the packages are listed, I see this: 1 → 75 of 5741 results
But the number of packages is listed as 8033. My guess is that is the i386 and the amd64 packages combined that accounts for the difference. And those listed as "superseded" are no longer in the PPA and are just a placeholder. How long does it take a superseded package to be deleted?

Superseded files are removed within about 36 hours. As for the package counts:

Number of packages:
    5740 source packages (1.6 GiB)
    8040 binary packages (6.2 GiB)

The table lists source packages, and that count matches fine. And, as you suggest, architecture-specific binaries will end up with multiple binaries per source.
