Is there an External (XML, RPC, etc) API for interfacing to LP?

I am trying to find/build an application that will put link launchpad projects and bugs to my PDA and synchronise them on request.

To help in my search or building, is there an API for applications that want to link to launchpad?

Perhaps a web service of some kind?

Sorry. This is a good question. There is a very basic XMLRPC API that allows you to file bugs: https://help.launchpad.net/MaloneXMLRPC

We're working on a REST interface that will allow more complete manipulation. For now, you can easily use something like zope's testbrowser to automate tasks via the web UI.

What progress has been made on this? I am currently hosting my project on GitHub, and I would love to be able to link the source code there to the bugtracking here.
