"Member Since" changed after resetting password.

I registered my launchpad account on 17/03/2007 (GMT+8) and submitted a reset of my password on 29/08/2011 (GMT+8). Since then my "member since" date changed to "29/08/2011". Anybody can do anything to resolve the issue?

Hi, can you provide details on how you went about changing your password? Did you go https://login.launchpad.net and update your password?

Or did you click on the 'Forgot password' link to reset it?

Or did you have your account suspended and reactivated?

Or did you do something else?

Account management is complicated in Launchpad because the Ubuntu single sign-on service manages the accounts. So the more information you can provide is appreciated.

I just tried resetting my password using the first two of the methods above and my original "Member since" date did not change, so I cannot reproduce the problem you see.

I clicked on the 'Forgot password' link to reset it. And the member since just turned into that date when it went to my profile. Thanks!

Resetting a password does not change member since, The value changes when SSO has a different set of email addresses than is registered with Launchpad. Lp probably has two user profiles for for you because SSO told Lp to create them.

This is probably bug 881019 which appears to be about merging Lp profiles, but is ultimately about SSO and LP having different email addresses.
