Difference between staging and qastaging

Asked by Javier Collado

What's the difference between staging and qastaging? Which one should I use for my own testing (i.e. launchpadlib scripts)?

qastaging is used predominantly for launchpad developers to qa their changes to the launchpad code base. It can however also be used for demo purposes by users. It is somewhat more volatile since new code changes are hitting it every day, and it's data is frequently altered by the qa process.

staging is meant both as a demonstration environment for users, and is used by launchpad developers to qa database related changes. It generally has more of the full launchpad architecture running (e.g. crobjobs).

Of the two, I would recommend using staging for qa-ing launchpadlib scripts, though you can effectively use either.

Can you help with this problem?
