How to show network aliases again?

Asked by Dirk Melchers

Hi,

since one of the last updates (somewhere in december), landscape-sysinfo does not show network aliases anymore.

The definition of "get_active_device_info" in "lib/network.py" is:

   def get_active_device_info(skipped_interfaces=("lo",), skip_vlan=True, skip_alias=True):

so, "skip_aliases" is set to True by default.

Is there a way to get the old behavior of showing the aliases back?

Best regards,

Dirk Melchers

Hi Dirk,

Thanks for the question. With today's virtualization of machines and network topologies, including aliases and vlan interfaces in the list was becoming too verbose for a majority of users. We needed to keep that information limited to physical interfaces to keep it in a reasonable size.

Thanks.
