Can't find the newest version (kcheckgmail-0.5.7.5) in Adept-Manager

Asked by tlue

Hello

KCkeckGmail brings up a PopUp-Window saying me, that there is a newer Version I should install. Google changed something, so that this version (5.7.4) is no longer usable.

My Problem: I cant find the newest version of kcheckgmail in the repositories.
Here still the older version is mentioned: http://packages.ubuntu.com/hardy/kcheckgmail

I could download it from here: http://downloads.sourceforge.net/kcheckgmail/kcheckgmail-0.5.7.5.tar.bz2
but I would prefer to have it from the repos if possible.

In the meanwhile I check my mails manually.

Thanks for any hints.

The fixed version hasn't yet been propagated from Debian to Ubuntu (please refer to the linked bug report).
I've also nominated the bug for a release update, but I can't do anything else.

You can in the meanwhile get the package from [1], which should work just fine.

Hello Raphael G

Thank you very much for your hints.
With Adept-Manager I purged Kcheckgmail and installed the deb-package you mentioned.

Unfortunately still the same message is displayed. When looking in Adept I see the correct version 5.7.5
When looking directly from the started Kcheckgmail-Icon -> Help -> About it still shows me version 5.7.4

When leaving the application it crashes.

I have to say, that I use x86_64 (AMD) and therefore downloaded
kcheckgmail_0.5.7.5-1_amd64.deb

Anyway. I now get my emails with Kontact/Kmail (KPIM). It works fine from there when I changed my Gmail-Account to allow POP3.

Thank you one more time anyway.

Thomas
