What is the use of SRV records?

SRV records allow you to specify the port number, IP *OR* DNS address of the target, etc. We, Sparta Project, feel that by using SRV records, you could have a network using a large variety of ports, and the client wouldn't have to even bother trying to figure that out. You also could create a round-robin that uses DNS names instead of IP addresses (Useful if someone doesn't have a static IP!). Due to these factors alone, we at Sparta Project can quite clearly state that the use of SRV instead of A would highly improve the IRC protocol as a whole.
