Creating Effects with Text

I'm able to create text and adjust font sizes, but I'm not able to apply any effects to the text. Example: Emboss, Shading, 3-D, etc. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Version 0.47 will soon be out with gazillion of SVG filters, including Emboss, all kinds of shadings etc.
