Will Inkscape begin using Launchpad's "Code"?

Asked by Zearin

Inkscape's website is the place where I first found out about Launchpad, and I'm so glad that I did. Launchpad is fantastic, and although I haven't personally used it yet I am very excited by the top-notch usability and functionality.

I was wondering, since Inkscape has already heavily migrated to Launchpad, will the code eventually migrate as well? I would be nice to have everything for developers on Launchpad, and everything else on the Inkscape website.

Hi, some developers are in favour of that, and some are not. So there is no final decision yet.

This is something we've considered, and may indeed do. Last time we discussed it though, there wasn't a consensus - some people favored git, and others preferred to stick with svn. I personally favor moving to bzr, especially so the more I learn about cool upcoming Launchpad integration features, like branch-reviews, PQM, and the like. However we would need to have at least a rough consensus favoring the change before I'd pursue it.
