Inkscape

new version causing pain

I just upgraded to version 0.91 and am having severe problems. All my old files are messed up because all the images contained within have been resized. I try to put them back how I had them but for some reason inkscape now won't let me. If it is this high, it must be this wide. How can I turn off this function??? Please, so annoying!!!
I hope that is clear enough an explanation.

Use the extension attached to this report to "fix" non-uniformly bitmap images imported into Inkscape drawings using older versions of Inkscape:
- Bug #1357808 “trunk, 0.91.x: add extension/feature to fix rendering of non-uniformly scaled bitmap images”
