bitmap trace preview won't come up

I am working with a png file trying to use bitmap trace, but the preview won't come up.

 The Preview Update feature is broken for the Brightness Cutoff option. It works for all the other options. If you need to use Brightness Cutoff, you can click OK, which actually performs the trace, and then Undo, if it's not right. Then adjust the threshold and try again.
