I can't use trace bitmap feature

I've imported my image and the trace bitmap isn't working. Please advise.

Is it really image and not a group you have selected? Make sure status bar shows "Raster image 1234x234px" or something similar when you have your image selected. Does changing tracing settings change the result.

Where do you change the image in the status bar?? Sometimes it works and other times it doesn't? If I can get the image to copy and saved as svg, I can't open it in scal. Thanks in advance for the help!

Statusbar just says what object do you have selected. If it is a group you need to ungroup it.
