no sure you would have to research what IMPORT file types the application you want to use can handle..

Typically when i port something out of inkscape to another graphic editor I do it via Scribus.

Inkscape Save As.. .plain svg
Scribus Import svg from Inkscape
Scribus Export or save

Scribus has great and functional file interworking features in it.

For an application like Rhino 3d (a 3d modeller) saving a copy as DXF or PS/PDF in Inkscape might work - see the list of supported file formats for import in Rhino 4.0 in 'File > File Formats > Other file formats' of the Rhino Online Help.

(direkt link: <http://www.rhino3d.com/4/help/FileIO/file_formats.htm>)

Scribus is an excellent OpenSource desktop publishing application specialized in professional page layout and "press-ready" output & publishing features, but imho less suited for handling exchange formats of (technical) vector data between CAD and modelling software.

Can you help with this problem?
