IPv6 capabillites

Asked by Steven Krebs

Hi there. Frst: great work bringing connection manager and the indicators together!

My question is: What IPv6 related capabilites are yet implented to use in the networkmenu and how to use them?

All the essential IPv6 features are already supported by connman:

o IPv6 manual configuration
o IPv6 stateless address autoconfiguration
o IPv6 nameservers

Naturally there's still work to do to polish all the corner cases, but
it's usable already now. For example, I have been using IPv6 with connman
roughly six months now. My setup is an openwrt wifi ap acting as the
ipv6 router and connected to sixxs network. I'm using sixxs nameservers
so that I have automatic access to google over ipv6 etc.

Good thing you pointed out how to use IPv6. Currently there is no way to
configure IPv6 settings (address and gateway) with indicator-network. I
filed bugs #683254 and #686356 about this.

Currently the easiest way to use IPv6 with connman is to use stateless
address autoconfiguration. For example, if you have running radvd
running on you network it should just work.

If you have any problems, feel free to file bugs or questions (like you
did now). Also the connman mailing list and #connman irc channel are
good ways to get more support:
