Resolved - Best solution for installing HP Photosmart Premium

Asked by lodgey

Hi,

I'm new to linux and would like to know the best possible method to install full wireless functionality to an HP Photosmart Premium printer on Ubuntu 9.04. I have looked at HPLIP and it appears that 9.04 already provides the required version to install this model printer. My problem is I'm not sure where to start, as differnet threads have different ideas.

As the required HPLIP is already installed how do I start the method of printer detection.
Do I run hp-setup from a terminal service or do I use system/settings/hplip?
If I use the Sytem/Administration/Printing method and setup the printer this way will it not have all the functions that are available on that printer?

Thanks

Update - Used terminal / sudo hp-setup

Hi,

Run "hp-setup" and follow the instructions to configure your printer for wi-fi. Let me know if that helps.

Suma
