Does the latest version include all previous version data?
Asked by
David Martin
The common Linux OS for this query is Debian 12 Bookworm distro which includes HPLIP 3.22.10.
I need to install HP printers of different types and of various ages on several different machines also of various ages. All these machines do, however, comply with Debian's and HPLIP's minimum system requirements.
My problem is, "What version of HPLIP should I install on each machine?"
It would be nice if the latest HPLIP version included all the data for all the old machines.
But does it? Old printer data might be removed from newer HPLIP versions to save on size.
Please can someone let me know the position?
Thanks.
