not possible to add the HP M234sdwe scanner in Ubuntu 16.04 LTS

xsane is not finding the scanner. HPLIP-3.23.5 version was installed on 30-07-2023, not possible to install hp-plugin

Support for Ubuntu 16.04 has already ended two years ago (except for Expanded Security Maintenance = vulnerability management for critical, high and medium CVEs), see https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Releases

You should upgrade to a supported Ubuntu release in due course.
