Install a Scanner in Elementary OS
I have an HP Deskjet 4130e. Printing is fine in elementary OS7 but i can use the scanner.
Scanimage -L from the terminal prompt gives
Device escl:https:/
lsusb at the terminal prompt gives all usb devices and identifies Deskjet 4100 series with a Bus number and a Device number.
Please can anyone assist me with actually installing the scanner driver into elementary OS
Thanks

Do this and repeat the first two commands, giving their
outputs.

This package is already installed so there should be an
airscan entry in 'scanimage -L'. Try again?

Can you scan with
simple-scan "airscan:e0:HP DeskJet 4100 series [DB9302]"
or
simple-scan "airscan:e1:HP DeskJet 4100 series [DB9302] (USB)"

Hi Brian
I had to install Simple-Scan and then the first command line worked.
I can scan via the feeder and the flatbed with this document scanner app.
However Libre office writer does not insert.
document from the scanner. As no scanner is even suggested in a little box.
Is there a way to make libre office find this scanner?
Thanks for all you help so far.
Regards
Steve

Sorry, I cannot help with the LibreOffice issue as I
never use it. It seems to me that your basic problem
should be marked as solved.

Hi Brian
Thanks for your assistance with this issue.
I will contact Libre Office support regarding the Insert command for a scanned document.
