Fail to scan

II have a HP Deskjet 2700 series replacing a HP Envy. The scanner did work, but suddenly i get a message that I need to install a
driver plugin.
I am offered to download and install
Then plugin installer reports that the checksum of the file does not match, so scanning fails.
There is given no hint as to what file this is, where it could be found etc.
Do I need to upgrade HPlip?

Suddenly, the install
procedure worked, the plugin was downloaded and was installed correctly, so now
evwerything is ok.
