Why is HP OfficeJet Pro 7740 End of support?

Asked by Kasper Derkinderen

In the list
https://developers.hp.com/hp-linux-imaging-and-printing/supported_devices/index
HP OfficeJet Pro 7740 Wide Format All-in-one 3.16.10 No Full (End of support) Color Yes Yes Parallel

It is the latest OfficeJet Pro model that support A3 paper
The port is mentioned as "Parallel" but according to
http://www8.hp.com/be/nl/products/printers/product-detail.html?oid=7682231&jumpid=cp_r163_be/nl/ipg/officejet-pro-7000/products-section-hpofficejetpro7740-buy-now#!tab=specs

it supports usb and ethernet. Maybe this is the cause of the mentioned "end of support"?

Hi,
The OfficeJet Pro 7740 is still under the supported level. Looks like the portal has been updated as end of support. We will get this corrected in the hplip portal. The connectivity level will be updated to USB and network along with this change.

Hope you are not facing any issues in accessing this printer through hplip driver.

Thanks,
Srinivas
