HPLIP

--fix-broken install

Have linux 18,04 OS. Had trouble with HP printer 2130 printing. Removed Libre to install open office. Which wouldn't install. Can't install Libre, says can't overwrite usr/bin/soffice, which is also a package for open office- demaian-menus 4.1.5-9789.

 This is what it says when I try to install apt fix broken install: E: Could not open lock file /var/lib/dpkg/lock - open (13: Permission denied) E: Unable to lock the administration directory (/var/lib/dpkg/), are you root?

Tried purging, and sudo apt-get install -f. Not ing works Thanks ahead

Hi Fred,

Its not an HPLIP related issue. This forum is for HPLIP driver issues.
Please run "sudo rm /var/lib/dpkg/lock" to remove lock and then try your install commands.
