Error codes returned from printer

HP Deskjet 3070 b611, previously been working fine.

HP Device Manager now reporting error code 1048 (missing cartridge) yet all cartridges in and recognised by the printer.

However the printer is not operating correctly (doesn't print self-test page, won't print received data but will scan and despatch the scan) and appears to hang, refusing to shut down if "off" button pressed while hung.

Not a happy printer...

Note that this appears to be h/w related but Im looking for some information in relation to the error code returned to HPDM.

Any ideas?

Can you try removing the cartridges and restart the printer and re-insert the cartridges. If the issue still remains you can report hardware related issues @ HP Total care.

I have exactly the same problem. The supplies tab shows ink in all cartridges, but the printer won't print and returns this error.
Removing and reinstalling the cartridges did not change anything.

Having same issue with HP 8640g all in one. (with some age to it), but I love it and love the "workhorse" that it has been.
Message on printer says "there's a problem with the printer or ink systems, turn OFF and back ON. If problem continues, contact HP".
My HPLip from computer screen says "ink cartridge missing (1048)"; however all cartridges have been checked, taken out and placed back in, but I still have this same message from boh printer and HPLip. HELP!
