HPIJS autostart lpd printer

Asked by HNT

Hello,

I have setup a cups server at home and it works fine except that I can't send jobs to my Deskjet 970 (access via hpijs) if it is turned off.
With an HP Deskjet 710C (work with pnm2ppa) it works.

Both printers are accessed via a lpd deamon.

So my question is : how to autostart an hpijs printer ?

And if I'm sharing the printer on a server (without X interface), so no hplip and only hpijs, how can I deal with this ?

This fix will only apply if you are using the hplip backend. You can install hplip without the gui and use the command line tools only.

Hope this helps!
