HP deskjet f2180 - scanner problem

i have this device and ,when i want scan with XSane (i have ubuntu 8.04 alfa 3), it says some as this "No device was found"

We've tested the Deskjet F2180 with the latest hplip (2.7.12) on Hardy and it works correctly with scanning/printing.

The current version of hplip that comes in hardy has some problems, which this fix (below) resolves some:

We've verified that scanning doesn't work unless the fix is made. This will be included in an upcoming update to hardy.
