Hi John,

The support for "HP LaserJet Pro CM1415fnw" is available in HPLIP. Please download and install the latest HPLIP 3.12.4 release from http://hplipopensource.com/hplip-web/gethplip.html. Installation instructions can also be found in the same page.

Thanks and Regards,

Srikanth,
Thank you for your reply. I downloaded the HPLIP 3.12.4 and installed it correctly ... I think. I got as far as the HP-setup wizard and configured it until it asked for the PPD file. I found the an hp laserjet cm1410 series ps ppd.gz file. I selected it and it came back with the following message:
error: Unable to lock /home/jebolton/.hplip/hp-systray.lock. Is hp-systray already running?

How do I check to see if hp-systray is running?

Thanks,
John

Srikanth,
I want to add two boxes that popped up when I tried to add the printer as described above.
1. Printer queue setup failed. Could not connect to CUPS Server. ls user added to "lp" group(s)
2. Fax queue setup failed. Please restart CUPS and try again.

I don't know what or where the CUPS server resides and how to resolve this issue. I do know I have the HP Device Manager now installed on my computer but I do not have my printer installed and working.

Thank you for any help you can provide to resolve this issue.

Thanks,
John

Hi John,

Please try the following steps.
1. Login as a root user.
2. Input "usermod -a -G lp,sy" from the terminal.
3. Restart your machine and then try to configure the device using hp-setup.

If the problem still persists, please post us the output of "hp-check -t" here.

Thanks for using HPLIP.

Thanks and Regards,
