Single line corruption when scanning with ADF

Asked by moftasa

I've just bought a brand new HP m1217nfw printer/scanner with ADF. I upgraded from hplip-3.11.7 that comes with Ubuntu 11.10 to hplip-3.12.2 since I get random I/O errors when using ADF to scan multiple pages, which I think is related to bug #819709, but this upgrade didn't solve the problem and additionally, I noticed that now one or two lines of a scanned document becomes corrupted and unreadable (more common with the final few pages, that is if the batch scanning is successful and it doesn't give me an I/O error).

This happens with both XSane and hp-scan.

Here are samples of these corruptions

Both problems are very annoying and I'd be happy to file bug reports or provide further data, but I don't know how or what information is needed.

Thanks in advance.

No one answered this question. Should I file a bug report?

This type of problem is not occurring while scanning from flatbed, but only from ADF ?

Are you getting the same error while scanning in Windows OS also ?

We will look into this.

Thanks for the reply.

This is more common with 300dpi and it never happened with flatbed.

Possibly it is related to when the scanner temporarily stops scanning to finish transferring the previous images. That's why it's more common after page 5 or 6.

I have to borrow a windows computer to test this again but I don't think I saw it in the scans while testing for the i/o error problem.

Can you help with this problem?
