Can't Instal printer НР P1102w use WI-FI

Asked by didiloooge

1. Ubuntu 10.04.
2. HP_LaserJet_Professional_P1102w.
3. run 'hp-check -t'

root@laptopol:/home/oleg# hp-check -t

Note: hp-check can be run in three modes:
1. Compile-time check mode (-c or --compile): Use this mode before compiling the
HPLIP supplied tarball (.tar.gz or .run) to determine if the proper dependencies
are installed to successfully compile HPLIP.
2. Run-time check mode (-r or --run): Use this mode to determine if a distro
supplied package (.deb, .rpm, etc) or an already built HPLIP supplied tarball has
the proper dependencies installed to successfully run.
3. Both compile- and run-time check mode (-b or --both) (Default): This mode will
check both of the above cases (both compile- and run-time dependencies).

please open file /usr/share/hplip/data/models/models.dat file as root user.
search for string HP_LaserJet_Professional_P1102w.
set wifi-config=1 for this section, and save file.

now run hp-wificonfig to configure printer with router.
identify ip address of printer at the end of hp-wificonfig setup.
once printer got ip address assigned by wireless router, ping this ip address from printer.

then add printer by hp-setup ip-address-of-printer.

Thanks,
Naga Samrat Chowdary, Narla

I think I have the same problem with HP_LaserJet_Professional_P1102w.
I tried Ubuntu 10.04 and 11.04, hplip versions 3.11.7, 3.11.10, 3.11.1-2ubuntu2.

The message in model.c:625 persists even with upgrade of Ubuntu 10.04->11.04.
/usr/share/hplip/data/models/models.dat contains the entry "[hp_laserjet_professional_p1102w]", support-type=1.

For current Ubuntu hplip version (3.11.1-2ubuntu2) I also cannot download the plugin (the site is down: http://www.openprinting.org/download/printdriver/auxfiles/HP/plugins/hplip-3.11.1-plugin.run - This site is down for maintenance. We will be restoring service shortly. Thank you for your patience.) But absense of plugin does not influence the message with usb.

I managed to have my printer working twice, but both times this lasted until reboot! Afterwards it was gone, hp found usb no longer.

Can you help with this problem?
