Windows Build instructions?

Asked by R Mark

Has anyone figured out how to build HomeBank for Windows?

I have a few quality-of-life improvements (mostly around being able to ignore certain transactions in budgets and graphs) I want to implement, but I can't find clear instructions to get a Windows build going, which doesn't bode well.

I searched through the forums and I see some old questions, but no instructions.

Well, this is quite complex to do.

Why not try the easier way and just suggest you wish, that may also be usefull to others ?
(if they are not too much specific, of course)

That's a fair question, Maxime. :)

I'm trying to get an implementation of reports filtering going. This has been an often requested feature, I think you said you are working on it, it's tracked in https://bugs.launchpad.net/homebank/+bug/1606714 .

I guess it's one of those "the perfect is the enemy of the good" situations. Yes, it would be great to have the official version of this feature, but for now I'll take a quick and dirty hack.

But regardless of my one weird use case, it would be a good idea to publish the Windows build instructions. I bet there's a few potential contributors who might be willing to contribute code but find it currently too hard.

I, too, would like the build instructions for Windows. I can't believe it should be THAT complex for users using Visual Studio. But I have been unable to even begin compiling the source. I can't believe that the OP and I are the only ones needing this.

Can you help with this problem?
