Deposits should preceed Expenses

In all banking programs that I have used and all banks that I have used in online banking, they place deposits before expenses. This is also logical because if you deposit an amount on a given day, then write checks you don't end up with negative balances.

What is your thinking on this subject?

This update is to clarify: on a given day, deposits should precede expenses. Sorry for any confusion.

I disagree, for 2 reason at least:

1) any financial txn should be ordered the way they occurred to keep the timeline, this is the logical and financial way.

2) there is some countries where bank will show you that order BUT they will count you fees if you get overdraft during the same day, before you make a transfer to cover an expense and you won't see it (or too late, when you got the fees)

So no, adding those 2 facts, it's not because your experience in your country is what it is that we should make a standard and don't let people choose how they want to manage this.
