Receiving money: Who sould be in the "Payee" field?

Asked by quaec

Hi,

when I'm receiving money, who should I put in the "Payee" field of the transaction? Me, because I received the payment, or the one who "paid" (gave me the money)?

Thanks!

Well, it's entirely for your records so up to you, but I usually put
in the person who paid me.....

Ok, thanks. I think this is a good way to handle it, because I want to track who paid me.

I just wasn't sure if it affects anything negatively when I'm doing this.

The German translation is a bit off in my opinion. "Payee" is translated as "Receiver". But I'm not sure if there is a better word for "payee" in German.

If you can think of a better word, feel free to change it or let me
know and I'll see if I can change it

Currently I don't have a better word, but I'm maybe I'll find one later. I've already changed some translations that were a bit sloppy.
