À quoi sert « du carnet 2 » ?

Les transactions par chèque ont une case à cocher « du carnet 2 », mais je ne comprends pas à quoi elle sert et l'explication du manuel ne m'aide pas vraiment.

Vous pouvez gérer 2 carnets de chèque distinct en meme temps (voir dans le parametrage des comptes).
Cocher la case indique a homebank que l’opération saisie concerne le chequier 2, plutot que le 1.
Ce qui calculera l'auto-increment du chequier correspondant.

Je vois, merci beaucoup. Pourquoi avoir choisi ce nombre ? Y a-t-il une règle bancaire qui dit qu'on ne peut avoir que deux carnets à la fois ? Je suis surpris par cette valeur qui semble arbitraire. Ceci est uniquement de la curiosité, pas une critique. :)
