I believe that at the moment you can change the format of the date that shows in the transaction list, but not the format that you enter it in.

To edit the one that is displayed, go to "Edit" > "Preferences" > "Display Format"

The first box is the one that you need to change. While I can't find the correct documentation for the syntax that you need to use, I have tried a load of the values from http://uk.php.net/strftime out and most of them seem to do the same thing

Hi, David! Yes, I solved the problem! Well just маке %d.%m.%Y, and get 24.10.2011, for example. Or you can do %d/%m/%Y (24/10/2011). Big thanks!!!

http://uk.php.net/strftime -- it's really good link!

Yes. Unfortunately the display format doesn't affect the transaction
window. If you want you can open a bug for it?

Ok, David! It's good idea! I created new bug (Bug #889605) about this problem. I'm still hoping :)

Can you help with this problem?
