import csv file from online bank

Asked by peter james cail

export lloydstsb csv file to linux calc file.
commas appear to be 'mixing' the columns as entries differ from headings, some having several entries confined to 1 cell

I take it that you are exporting your LloydsTSB account from Homebank to a
CSV file, opening it in LibreOffice Calc, then saving it in Calc's native
format? If so, at what point does it go wrong?

Upon opening from the bank the last option has: Separator options which I had previously set at comma etc.
As I had just reinstalled Ubuntu 11.04 the options had reverted to their default settings and I had omitted to change them again hence the garbled result.

Having rectified this omission all seems well.
Thank you for your reply and I humbly and embarrassingly apologise for any inconvenience I may have caused.

ps I notice bikerboy87 if you do ride and enjoy good roads I live by the "most dangerous road in Britain" Macclesfield to Buxton It is not dangerous and it is a good ride with beautiful scenery. (Almost as good as the snake pass) Sit by it for an hour and you will see those who cannot ride causing the problems. There is a short cut which foils the Police speed check system for this road.
If you don't know where it is email me pere AT madscientist DOT com and I'll send you details.
