GTG

Having subtask would hide the main task

Asked by Song Yangyu

I'm not sure whether this is a bug or a feature.. but it's really annoying to me.

I'd like to take notes using the GTG, but I also want to create sub-task for the task I've taken notes.

But the problem here is... after adding in the sub-task, there's no way for me to see the main task except that I delete all it's sub-tasks.

Probably this is because that I don't know exactly how to use the GTG properly... I'd appreciate any help on this.

Thanks.

You are probably in so called WorkView mode or filter your tasks by a tag. When you are in WorkView mode, only the next possible action is shown:
  * doesn't have any active subtasks
  * start date is in past
  * due date is not "Someday"
  * none of the tags are hidden in workview

It is by purpose to see only tasks which you can work on at the moment. WorkView mode is not designed to plan tasks or edit parent tasks. You can switch to normal view by pressing WorkView button on toolbar or from menu View -> Work View.

Can you help with this problem?
