How does the Tomboy plugin work?

Hello,

I've recently switched to GTG and am thoroughly impressed so far. I saw the Tomboy plugin in the preferences menu and was intrigued. I enabled it but am unclear as to how it works. I didn't see any change in the UI (like extra buttons) or anything new in all the context menus I looked at. Is there something I'm missing or is there a bug in the Tomboy plugin? When you open a task, you should find a new icon with the tomboy logo on the toolbar of the Task Editor. You may need to expand the window to see that.

Hmm. I actually don't see a button. That's what I was expecting originally, but nothing showed up. Should I file a bug report? Tried restarting my computer, but it didn't fix anything. Does it only work with a specific Tomboy version maybe? Trying to figure out what could be wrong on my end.

ok, you should file a bug report. please run "gtg -d", enable and disable the tomboy plugin and post the output int the report. It should work with all versions of tomboy which have dbus support (so, karmic version is fine, if you're on ubuntu).

Hey there,

I have the same question as Jay. Starting gtg with the debugging option did not yield any results...

I am running gtg version 0.2.3 (ppa) alongside Tomboy 1.1.4 (ppa) on Ubuntu 9.10

BTW: Is it too much to ask for a more seamless integration into Tomboy along the lines of typing something like LinkToATomboyNote which automatically creates a link to this note (if it already exists, otherwise creating a new one)? Just a thought ;-)
