why does it need hal

why does this application still depend on hal - libhal1 , hasn't hal been depreciated?

Grub Customizer doesn't directly depend on libhal (the only dependencies are gtkmm, menu and hwinfo [recommendation]). The last one still uses libhal. I'm using this command (hwinfo) to fetch the available screen resolutions to be used on the grub2 menu.

hwinfo is the mostly recommended way to do this.
