Grub Customizer

the .png file will not load on grub

it worked fine on my other pc. i am having problems with my laptop i just recently dual booted w/ ubuntu 10.10 and win 7. the customizer properly reordered my os's but i cant get the colors to change or the .png i have selected to display.
1024x768x16 is selected. red/transparent for both normal and highlight. i checked the advanced tab and the gfx box is checked as well as the color boxes and the menu picture. i get no errors on startup. the grub shows as grey borders and grey os list. the format is nice but once again, no colors and no picture.

If the image files on your root partition? If not, Grub2 may not find the file.

Also please take a look at your /boot/grub/grub.cfg. There should be a link to your image file.

If both is ok, this is a well known Grub2 issue ;-)

I didn't find out what type of image grub2 doesn't like. Especially after I read that png should work better than other formats. You could try to open the image with gimp and resave it. Also it may be a good idea to ensure the image not not to large (memory usage).
