Which is the best clustering and replication scheme for graphite / carbon / whisper ?

Asked by Toni Moreno

We have plans to build a big graphite platform , and we wish build it with High availability and contingency between 2 data-centers
We hope also build a scalable graphite platform with carbon + whisper .

Which could be the best scheme for this requirements?

About capacity:

How many metrics/second could hold a single carbon instance?

Unfortunately, your question doesn't make much sense. The amount of metrics per second a carbon instance can take depends on the hardware it's running on - there is no simple answer.

If you search online for something like "scaling graphite" you will see plenty of examples where people have setup Graphite across data centres, with redundancy, etc. Again, there's no single answer to your question.

I was searching for similar and ran into this excellent post https://grey-boundary.io/the-architecture-of-clustering-graphite/ from Jamie Alquiza

Can you help with this problem?
