Question #112953 “Can we disable playlist repeat?” : Questions : GNOME Media Player

Can we disable playlist repeat?

Asked by J.M. Hardin

With Always On Top disabled (thank you!) GMP is even better as a default media player. Unfortunately I'm finding that if I want a playlist, or a single file, to play once and then stop I'm unable to do it in GMP. Both VLC and Totem allow repeating as an option, but default to playing once and stopping. Can we please have an option to only repeat the playlist when we specifically request it?

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Launch the Gnome Media Player
2. Add one or more files to the GMP playlist
3. Begin playing the files in the playlist

Expected Result:
When the playlist is completed GMP stops playing pending further action from the user

Actual Result:
When the playlist is completed GMP goes back to the top of the playlist and plays the files again. If you want GMP to stop playing the files you have to manually stop the player.

Just an FYI: I'm switching from GNOME to KDE so this no longer affects me, but thanks for getting this fixed for everyone still running GMP.

Can you help with this problem?
