Remounting stash when logging in for 2nd time

Asked by Luciano Passuello

I have a stash configured to mount when I log in. This works fine.
However, if I log out and log back in, the stash does not correctly mount again (in the Gnome Encfs Manager screen, I see the stash as "mounted", but no data is available in the mount directory).

Among the many settings I tried, the most logical configuration (in my view), didn't work:
In Preferences, "Unmount all stashes on logout" checked, and, for the stash, "Mount on Startup" checked.

Am I missing something?
Thanks in advance for the help!

This sounds like you are using an encrypted home and the stash is not unmounted on logout for some reason. What are your distribution and desktop environment? Can you manually unmount and remount the stash in GEncfsM?

Ha! Thanks, that was the problem, I can't. When trying to manually 'fusermount -u' via command line, I saw that there was a locked file ("Device or resource busy").

Issuing a "fusermount -uz" (lazy unmount) worked for me. I don't know enough about -z to recommend it, but maybe it's a good flag to use when unmounting during logoff (?)

BTW, quick heads-up: Not sure if you want to do anything about this, but when manually unmounting via fusermount, the stash is stuck as "mounted" on GEncfsM, and I can't toggle it anymore (so I can remount it, for example). Closing and reopening GEncfsM didn't help.

Thanks for this great software!
