Clean install Ubuntu

Asked by Jeffrey

I use Folder Color for all of my secondary drives. I've organized over a thousand files this way. But I'm planning to do a clean install of ubuntu, does this mean that the folder colors will remain or not?

Hi Jeffrey,
I'm not sure. It's not stored into the file system itself, then your folders will have a regular icon in the new system.
All it's stored by the system internally. If you leave your home, I suppose you'll have your colors, because it's has to be in a database file in your home.
Could you try with a new small partition and check moving all your hidden folders into it?
I'm so sorry about this.

Hi yalçın,
No one, that information is stored inside a database of the system in your home.
I think is:
~/.local/share/gvfs-metadata
I would recommend you to restore the complete home. Could you tell me
the result?
Thanks in advance
