how to delete saved passwords?

Asked by JLo

I just logged on a familiar site w/ my new computer, and messed up when typing my password... but asked mozilla to remember it. Now everytime I go to the site it automatically enters in the wrong password. How do I change this?

Go to edit>preferences>click on the security icon and then it say in bold "Passwords" right below it has a check box and says remember passwords for sites. Right across from that it should say "Exceptions" click on that and select the website and remove it.

seisen1 is wrong.

I'm assuming here you are using firefox-2-something (in fact I don't think this has changed for firefox-3)?

Firstly, out of the top of my memory, firefox should change the password if you type in a corrected one and login with that password. If it doesn't for some reason, then do the following:

Go to edit>preferences>the security tab>saved passwords (button). The window should show websites and the login names used on them (how they are saved now). You can also make it reveal the passwords. Just find your website and delete that row (or rows, because you can have multiple logins per website). In the browser visit the website again and login with your correct password, and confirm to remember it.
