auto move to an empty workspace when maximizing a window

Asked by ishovkun

I want to set up the following behavior on the eOS Freya:
when clicking on a maximizing button (or using a maximizing keyboard shortcut), I want the window to be automatically places on the empty workspace.
I have been googling for a solution for a day, but all my efforts were in vain. Could anyone help me with this?

Hi Ishovkun,

I am sorry to tell you that it isn't possible right know. you could use the keyboard shotcuts.
go to keyboard in switchboard(settings) go to workspaces and change the move left and move right the the preferable keyboard shortcut. this will move the active window to a workspace on the left or the right.

Maximize shortcut is "super + arrow up" super is normally the apple cmd key or windows key.
Minimize is "alt + f5"

i have filed a bug report for you and you can track it.

Thanks for using elementary OS and i hope that the temporarily solution is good for now.
Kind regards,
