Why does Docky consume more ram than gnome-do with docky mode on?

Asked by Edgardo Fredz

In my system, standalone docky (with no docklets activated) uses 36 mb, and gnome-do in docky mode uses 16 mb. Why, if docky, with nothing extra activated, has less functionalities than gnome-do, it takes so much more ram?

It is what it is. To be honest, Im amazed your Do+docky is 16mb, mine was always around 30mb!

The new Docky tends to buffer a lot more, so that accounts for quite a bit of extra memory usage.

Can you help with this problem?
