desktop graphical interaction

From this morning on, I've got a kind of "docky zone" drawing a line on my desktop & on whatever apllication I launch : http://pix.toile-libre.org/?img=1425210913.png
Xubuntu 14.10 docky-core/ppa
Is this a bug or do I have a setting to amend ?

This strange "dock shadow", once enabled has the dock back to normal
