How to "uncheck" manage windows without launcher?

this option is greyed out - I am not able to uncheck it - is there something I am overlooking - maybe something I don't understand?

running on Ubuntu 10.04 LTS

We require that one dock have this option enabled. Exactly (and only) one. If you only have one dock, it must have that option (and thus we grey it out).

If you have 2 docks, checking it on the other dock will uncheck it on the original dock, thus enforcing the '1 dock has the option' rule.
