can't use any remote server

I have two machines on a LAN, one running Ubuntu and one Debian. I want to backup each to the other. The Ubuntu machine backs up fine to the Debian box using ssh. However, when I try to set the Debian preferences to a server, the only server type shown is "Custom Location". I cannot find ssh, ftp, or anything else as a destination for the backup.
