Not Connecting

Asked by ashford

I get this message everytime I try and connect with DC++.

[17:27] *** Connecting to 127.0.0.1:7314...
[17:27] *** Connected
[17:27] <*Dtella> 0. Requesting config from purdue.config.dtella.org...
[17:27] <*Dtella> 1. Scanning For Online Nodes...
[17:27] <*Dtella> *** UDP PORT FORWARD REQUIRED ***
[17:27] <*Dtella> In order for Dtella to communicate properly, it needs to receive UDP traffic
[17:27] <*Dtella> from the Internet. Dtella is currently listening on UDP port 26883, but the
[17:27] <*Dtella> packets appear to be getting blocked, most likely by a firewall or a router. If
[17:27] <*Dtella> this is the case, then you will have to configure your firewall or router to
[17:27] <*Dtella> allow UDP traffic through on this port. You may tell Dtella to use a different
[17:27] <*Dtella> port from now on by typing !UDP followed by a number.

Anyone have any idea on how I can get this resolved. I've never been able to get this to work.

This is, strictly speaking, not a DC++ issue. Dtella doesn't seem to have a support site, though. You can find generic instructions for forwarding at http://portforward.com/

Can you help with this problem?
